Regional Research Centre for Integrated Development (RCID Ltd) is a research-based organisation registered in Rwanda since May 2013. RCID Ltd has highly experienced skills in developing and implementing mitigation plans and identifying key planning issues faced during post-disaster recovery. Areas of expertise include assessing the impacts of hazards and enabling communities to accomplish mitigation through comprehensive planning, transportation planning, zoning, and other planning mechanisms. RCID also focuses on Results-based Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (M&E), conducting program evaluations such as Baseline, Mid-term, and End-line assessments, impact assessments, feasibility studies, and gender surveys.
RCID has a strong record of working with local communities and stakeholders across biodiversity management, wildlife management, forestry landscape management (FLR), environment, climate change, water management, food security, nutrition, agriculture, and socio-economic development. Additionally, RCID supports technology dissemination and agricultural information services (Satellite data, GIS, ICT, Drones) and has a solid network of local, regional, and international consultants in various disciplines.
RCID has been actively collaborating with the Rwanda Government and stakeholders on climate change adaptation awareness integrated into research and development. Since 2013, RCID has contributed to the Eastern Africa Community Climate Change Thematic Group and has provided technical assistance in climate change policy. This has involved reviewing existing policies and recommending a comprehensive climate change adaptation strategy for Rwandan agriculture, in partnership with IFPRI.
